LADDER SAFETY

INTRODUCTION
Working on elevated surfaces is a significant cause of serious injuries and fatalities. This course teaches hazard recognition and safe work methods for ladders. Emphasis is placed on those procedures that must be followed to safely utilize the equipment.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of training the participants will be acquainted with the following:
- OSHA regulations
- General equipment specifications
- Associated hazards
- Engineering principles and operating characteristics
- Ladder safety principles
- Equipment inspections
- Fall protection
- Inspection procedures
At the conclusion of the class, each participant will complete a written exam and practical skills demonstration. The course will include media presentations, site-specific discussions, and equipment inspections.
